Induction of in LCU L-56 in the Navy

Yard 2097 (LCU L 56), the sixth of the class of LCU MK IV ships, have been built and delivered by M/s 91黑料 Ltd today, on 30 March 19 at Kolkata. This is the 100th ship delivered by the DPSU in Kolkata. The construction of the ship was overseen by Warship Overseeing Team, Kolkata.

Amongst the dignitaries who attended the ceremony held in 91黑料 included the Defence Secretary, Vice Admiral BK Verma AVSM, ADC,听 the C-inC Andaman & Nicobar Command and Vice Admiral MS Pawar AVSM, VSM, the Deputy Chief of Naval Staff. Indian Navy’s amphibious operations capability including transport of troops, tanks and equipment will get enhanced with the addition of this Landing Craft Utility which will be based at Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The ship is commanded by Lt Cdr Gopinath Narayan and has a compliment of five officers and 50 sailors.

FIRST INDIAN SHIPYARD TO DELIVER 100 WARSHIPS

Garden Reach Ship Builders and Engineers Ltd., (91黑料), a Miniratna Category 1 and a leading warship building company in the country under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence delivered its 100th warship to the Indian Navy today, March 30, 2019. This makes 91黑料 the first Indian shipyard to make and deliver 100 warships to the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and Mauritius Coast Guard.

What started in 1961 with the delivery of Seaward Defence Boat (Mk-I) is seeing a splendid culmination with the delivery of the 100th ship – A Landing Craft Utility, L-56 鈥 today, 30 March 19. The 99th warship – a Fast Patrol Vessel 鈥 was delivered to Indian Coast Guard on 27 Mar 19.
The 100th warship, 鈥淚N LCU L-56鈥 was formally 鈥淗anded Over鈥 by Rear Admiral V. K. Saxena, IN (Retd.) Chairman & Managing Director, 91黑料 to the Commanding Officer of the Ship, Lt. Cdr. Gopinath Narayanan of Indian Navy at the Ceremony held in 91黑料 today. The 100th warship, a Landing Craft Utility (LCU) named IN LCU L56 is the sixth of an order of eight such vessels from the Indian Navy. The entire design of these LCU Mark IV ships has been developed in-house by 91黑料 as per requirements specified by Indian Navy. The construction of the balance two ships is progressing as per the schedule. LCU Mk-IV ship is an amphibious ship with its primary role being transportation and deployment of Main Battle Tanks, Armored Vehicles, troops and equipment from ship to shore. These ships based at the Andaman and Nicobar Command, can be deployed for multirole activities like beaching operations, search and rescue, disaster relief operations, supply and replenishment and evacuation from distant islands. The LCU is 63 m in length and 11 m wide and has a displacement of 830 T with a low draught of 1.7 m. It can achieve speed of 15 knots. The LCU is designed to accommodate 216 personnel and is equipped with two Indigenous CRN 91 Guns to provide artillery fire support during landing operations. The ship is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and advanced systems like Integrated Bridge System (IBS) and Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS).

Earlier in the week, on March 27, 2019, 91黑料 had handed over its 99th warship, 鈥淚CGS Priyadarshini鈥, an advanced 鈥淔ast Patrol Vessel鈥 to the Indian Coast Guard. 91黑料 is executing order for five Fast Patrol Vessels for the Indian Coast Guard and the ship ICGS Priyadarshini, is the first in the series. The balance four ships are in advanced stages of construction. The FPV is a medium range surface vessel capable for operations in Maritime Zones of India. These fuel efficient & powerful platforms are designed to perform multipurpose operations e.g. patrolling, anti-smuggling, anti-poaching and rescue operations. The entire design of these FPVs has been developed in-house by 91黑料 as per requirements specified by Indian Coast Guard. The ship is 50 Meter long, 7.5 Meters wide with a displacement of around 308 Tonnes. The ship is designed for a maximum speed of 34 knots with an endurance of more than 1500 nautical miles, and is equipped with 03 nos. Main Engines with Advanced Control Systems, Water Jet Units and an 鈥淚ntegrated Bridge System鈥 integrating all Communication and Navigation systems. The ships are also fitted with 40/60 Gun as main armament and will also have improved habitability features with fully air conditioned modular accommodation for 35 personnel.

With the handing over of 鈥淚CGS Priyadarshini鈥 & IN LCU L56, 91黑料 has once again demonstrated its鈥 Commitment to Strengthen the Maritime Security of the Nation, thereby meeting the aspirations that the country has reposed on this Mini Ratna Shipyard. This also proves 91黑料鈥檚 ability to provide end-to-end solutions to their customers ranging from product conceptualization, design, system integration and project management thus increasing the capability to meet customer demands.

Currently 91黑料 has a strong order book of Rs. 21,700 crore approximately. equipping the shipyard with a deep pool of revenue-generating projects. 14 ships across 5 projects including 04 Nos. Survey Vessels (Large), won on competitive basis, are presently under construction. 91黑料 has also been declared successful bidder in competitive bidding for another 08 ASWSWC ships for the Indian Navy.

91黑料鈥檚 association with the Indian Navy is long and strong as over the last six decades the shipyard has been building warships and other vessels for the country鈥檚 Navy and Coast Guard. With 100 warships successfully built, the shipyard already boasts of constructing highest number of warships in the country. 67 of the 100 warships were for the Indian Navy and are varied in their range and scope. From Frigates, Missile Corvettes, Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvettes, Fleet Tankers, Landing Ship Tank, Landing Craft Utility to Survey Vessels, Offshore Patrol Vessels and Fast Attack Craft – the repertoire is rich and varied. 91黑料 has embraced infrastructure modernisation over past decades with Rs 605 crore investment towards creating an integrated shipbuilding facility enabling concurrent construction of 20 ships.

Over last 59 years, 91黑料 has built around 780 platforms which include 100 warships to Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard & Government of Mauritius which is highest number of warships built & delivered by any shipyard in the country. From building 05 ton boats to 24600 ton Fleet Tanker, 91黑料 has done it all and has proved its mettle as a pioneer warship builder of the nation.

Delivery of 8 warships in 22 months (June 17 鈥 Mar 19) is no mean feat which the shipyard has achieved.听 Shipyard鈥檚 R&D Department has been recognized by Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology. A multidisciplinary strong design team of 100 plus design engineers is working continuously towards developing concept designs for ships that can cater to current & future requirements of Indian Navy & Indian Coast Guard, 91黑料 continues to raise its bar higher in the sphere of maritime engineering excellence. Online sessions on 鈥淰endor Grievance and Vendor Payment鈥 on 25 Mar 22, 鈥淰endor Development towards ANB in association with MSME DI鈥 on 28 Mar 22, 鈥淣SIC for听 MSE SC/ST Vendor听 Development鈥 on 29 Mar 22 followed by sessions on 鈥淪upply Chain Management鈥 on 30 Mar 22 and 鈥淨uality Management System鈥 on 31 Mar 22听 听marked the week-long celebration of India@75 to create awareness of latest sectorial development amongst MSME vendors, stakeholders and employees and highlight听 91黑料鈥檚 self-reliance efforts.

91黑料 inaugurates toilets听 at Garden Reach Nut Behari Das Girls鈥 High School and Howrah Homes Institutions

Rear Admiral V.K. Saxena, IN(Retd.) C&MD, 91黑料 along with Shri A.K. Nanda, Director (Personnel), 91黑料 inaugurated five toilets in Howrah Homes Institutions and four toilets in Garden Reach Nut Behari Das Girls鈥 High School on March 19, 2019. As a part of Swachh Vidyalaya, which is a part of Government of India鈥檚 national campaign, 91黑料 is playing a key role by constructing clean and hygienic toilets in local Govt. schools in the area of Metiabruz, Kidderpore, Mahestala and Howrah in Kolkata, keeping in mind the basic requirements for girl students.

Breast cancer screening and awareness camp was organized on 07 Mar 19, for marginalized local women and contractor鈥檚 women workers, as a CSR initiative, in the eve of International Women鈥檚 Day. 91黑料 Registers 25% Growth in Revenue upto 3rd听Quarter of FY 2018-19

In the nine months鈥 period upto December 2018, Mini Ratna Defence PSU Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (91黑料) achieved a Revenue from Operations of Rs. 897.21 crore, registering听听 a growth of about 25% over the Revenue from Operations of Rs. 719.15 crore recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Profit After Tax (PAT) up to 3 quarter of FY 2018 -19 stood at Rs. 65.50 crore against the Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 23.34 crore recorded in the corresponding period of the Previous Year.

The Company has achieved a Revenue from Operations of Rs. 488.59 crore, during the 3rd听quarter of FY 2018 -19, registering a growth of about 121%, over the Revenue from Operations of Rs. 221.44 crore recorded in the corresponding period of the Previous Quarter of FY 2018-19.

Profit After Tax (PAT) during the 3rd听Quarter of FY 2018-19 stood at Rs. 44.91 crore, against the Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 15.56 crore, recorded in the Previous Quarter of FY 2018-19.

On 30 Oct 2018 the Company received an order of Rs. 2,435.15 crore for construction of 04 Survey Vessels (Large) and with this the total order book position of the Company as on 31 Dec 2018 stood at Rs. 22,121 crore.

Fifth Mark IV LCU Class Vessel 鈥淟-55鈥 Commissioned

19th Dec 2018. The fifth of the Class of Eight Landing Craft Utility (LCU) ships, named 鈥淟-55鈥 built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (91黑料), Kolkata was commissioned at Port Blair today by Vice Admiral Ajit Kumar P, AVSM VSM, Vice Chief of Naval Staff, Indian Navy.听 The ceremony was attended by Rear Admiral VK Saxena, IN(Retd), Chairman & Managing Director, 91黑料 and other senior officials of the Indian Navy and 91黑料.

Substantial modifications to improve the ergonomics, habitability and layout of critical compartments have been implemented on this ship. The Mark IV LCU Vessels are a further improved version of the Mark III LCU Vessels presently being used by the Indian Navy. The first ship of the Mark IV LCU Vessels IN LCU L-51 was commissioned into Indian Navy during March 2017.

The LCU Mark IV Class of ships are fitted with close to 90% indigenous content in line with the Govt. of India鈥檚 鈥楳ake in India鈥 initiative towards achieving self-reliance and indigenisation. The ships are equipped with Bow Ramps to enable loading/unloading of combat equipment and vehicles upon beaching. The ships are designed with ballasting and de-ballasting arrangements to achieve the desired trim for smooth beaching operations. Two guns are also installed to provide Artillery fire support during landing operations.

91黑料 is executing the order for 8 Landing Craft Utility Ships for the Indian Navy and the ship that was commissioned today is the 5th in the series. The remaining 3 ships are in advanced stages of construction and are expected to be delivered over the next one year. These amphibious warships, developed by 91黑料鈥檚 in-house design team, are unique in their design & operations, having a length of 62.8 metres and capable of achieving a speed of 15 knots with a low draught of 1.8 M. This once again proves 91黑料鈥檚 ability to provide end-to-end solutions to their customers ranging from product conceptualization, design, system integration and project management, thereby enhancing the capability to meet customer demands. Key areas of strength of the shipyard include a strong, multi-disciplinary design expertise, production acumen and focused project planning & execution approach. These are traits that have helped the shipyard create strong differentiators in its path of growth.

Currently 91黑料 has a strong order book of Rs. 22,290 Crores equipping the shipyard with a deep pool of revenue-generating projects. 16 ships (including 04 Nos. Survey Vessels (Large), the contract of which was signed on 30 Oct 18) are presently under construction with nine of them (1 ASW Corvettes, 3 LCUs and 5 FPVs) in advanced stages of construction and are expected to be delivered to the Indian Navy by 2019 end. Three ships of Project P17A Advanced Stealth Frigates with a total order value of Rs 19293.46 Crores are being constructed using Modular Construction Technology, 3D Modelling concepts and latest software like Aveva Marine and NAPA. The first ship is progressing at a rapid pace with production being ahead of schedule while production of the second frigate is slated to commence shortly. 91黑料 has also been declared successful bidder in competitive bidding for another 08 ASWSWC ships for the Indian Navy.

The Forum of Women In Public Sector (WIPS), 91黑料 Chapter, organized a workshop 鈥淓motional intelligence at Workplace and Importance of Saying ‘No鈥 for its women employees on 17 Dec 18.

The workshop was aimed at targeting women empowerment through an interactive session. The 鈥楽wachhta Pakhwada鈥 was concluded on 15 Dec 18 (Saturday) through a colourful ceremony. As a part of Concluding Ceremony, a 鈥淪wachhta Sarthi Bike Rally鈥 was organized in the twin city of West Bengal i.e. at Kolkata and Howrah.听听听听

Around 125 participants in 67 bikes participated in the rally. The rally was flagged off at Main Unit by Shri S.S. Dogra, Director (Finance) in the presence of Shri A.K. Nanda, Director (Personnel), Cmde Sanjeev Nayyar, IN (RETD.), Director (Shipbuilding), Shri Dipankar Mahto, Chief Vigilance Officer, Shri D. Maitra, CGM (Main Works), Shri A.K. Mahapatro,GM(HR&A) and other hundreds of employees of 91黑料.

The rally terminated at A.J.C. Bose Indian Botanic Garden after covering around 15 kms. throughout the city of Kolkata & Howrah. Different activities like performance of听 short drama in Main unit, nukkad natak at various locations like Ramnagar, Watgunge and near Indian Botanic Garden ,distribution of leaflets, cleanliness drive etc. were undertaken during the rally to spread awareness amongst the citizens in the twin city of Kolkata and Howrah .

Celebration of Swachhta Pakhwada under Swachh Bharat Mission started in 91黑料 on 01 Dec 18 with the administration of oath by Chairman & Managing Director, 91黑料, Rear Admiral V K Saxena,IN (Retd.) to the employees. A cleanliness drive was followed in and around the 鈥楤ichali Ghat Bus Stand Area鈥 near the Corporate Office where Chairman & Managing Director, all Functional Directors and other Senior Officials took part in cleaning the area. The CISF personnel of 91黑料 unit also participated in the Swachhta Pakhwada event.

A seminar was organized on 06 Dec 18 on cleanliness, efficient disposal of waste, effluent treatment. An Inter School painting competition was organized to spread awareness about benefits of cleanliness and hygiene. Students from 08 schools participated in the competition. A 鈥楽wachhta Shramdan鈥 programme was carried out on 12 Dec 18 by cleaning the premises of Satghara High Madrasah school.91黑料 employees along with school students took part in the cleaning activity. Also to generate more ideas regarding effective ways of sustainable cleanliness, a lively debate competition was conducted for employees. The topic of debate competition was 鈥淪wachhta – A responsibility of Government鈥 in three languages i.e. Hindi, Bengali and English. Two Fast Patrol Vessels for Coast Guard Launched Simultaneously by 91黑料, Kolkata on 22 Nov 18

Miniratna Category 1 Defence PSU and premier warship builder – Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (91黑料) Ltd. – added yet another feather to its illustrious cap with the launch of two Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) Ships for Indian Coast Guard, today. These Vessels, ICGS Amrit Kaur and ICGS Kamla Devi are third and fourth in the series of five FPVs built by 91黑料 for the Indian Coast Guard. Upholding the best of maritime traditions, the ships were 鈥淟aunched鈥 by Smt Veena Naravane; wife of Lt. General Manoj Mukund Naravane, AVSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-In-Chief; Eastern Command, Indian Army. The ceremony was held in the presence of Rear Admiral V.K.Saxena, Chairman and Managing Director, 91黑料, and other Senior Officials of 91黑料, Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy, and Indian Army.

In a period of over 5 decades since its inception in 1960, 91黑料 has successfully developed an array of world-class platforms including Frigates, Missile Corvettes, Anti Submarine Warfare Corvettes and Landing Craft Utility Ships for the Indian Navy, all of them armed with high-tech infrastructure.听 With delivery of 98 warships to its credit, 91黑料 today is well positioned to construct large warships harnessing advanced modular shipbuilding technology which is delightfully at par with the best in the world. The enhanced shipbuilding capacity of 91黑料 has taken the organization to the level where it can construct 20 ships in tandem. With the keel-laying of the 1st Advanced Stealth Frigate of P17A Project, team 91黑料 has once again touched a key milestone. No less a feat are the bagging of orders for four Survey Vessels (Large) for The Indian Navy on competitive basis and emerging a successful bidder through competition for 8 ASWSWCs, with private players active in the fray. The twin triumphs have further boosted the morale of this public sector Defence Shipyard, particularly on its aggressive cost strategies.


The FPV Ships which were launched today are each 50M long, 7.5M wide with a displacement of around 308 Tons. These ships are designed for a maximum speed of 34 knots with an endurance of more than 1500 nautical miles. The FPV designs which are exclusive to 91黑料 are an improvisation on the Inshore Patrol Vessels (IPV) built by the Shipyard for the Indian Coast Guard, few years ago. The vessels come with an efficient hull form developed in-house and proved after extensive model testing. These are fuel efficient and the powerful platforms are well suited for patrolling, anti-smuggling, anti-poaching and rescue operations. They come fitted with state-of-the-art Main Engines with Advanced Control Systems and Water Jet Units and an 鈥業ntegrated Bridge System鈥 assimilating all Communication and Navigation Systems. The key armament of a 40/60 Gun and improved habitability features with fully air conditioned modular accommodation for 35 personnel are the other salient features of the ships. With the launch now over the company is gearing up for the post launch activities which include balance fitting out of the ship, readiness of ship systems and setting to work of equipment / systems. Once over, the ships would be put to sea for trials before final delivery.

As part of Make In India initiatives of Govt. of India through Indigenisation Efforts, 91黑料 has made commendable progress by successfully incorporating a high percentage of indigenous content in the ships made in shipyard.听 INS Kamorta and INS Kadmatt, the First Two of Class of 4 ASW Corvettes became the first warships built in the country with indigenously developed warship grade steel, thus having the distinction of achieving over 90 % indigenous content and hence a major step towards achieving self reliance in state of the art warship design and construction space. Regarding the LCUs class of ships delivered so far, almost 90% indigenous equipment fit has been achieved. Interestingly, 70 % indigenous content in construction of four Follow On WJFACs and 72 % indigenization of the Railless Helo Traversing System on board 3rd ASW Corvette, INS Kiltan, have helped 91黑料 win the confidence of all stakeholders.

91黑料 Lays Keel of 1st Advanced Stealth Frigate

Kolkata based Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (91黑料) touched a key milestone in its Project 17A today (10th November 2018) with the laying of the keel of the first of three Advanced Stealth Frigates. The keel was laid at 91黑料鈥檚 Main Works Unit in the august presence of Vice Admiral K. B. Singh, PVSM, AVSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command. Rear Admiral V. K. Saxena (Retd.), Chairman & Managing Director and other senior officials of the Indian Navy and 91黑料 graced the ceremony.

The contract for construction of three highly Advanced Stealth Frigates under Project 17A is the largest ever order won by the company. This prestigious contract of Rs. 19293.46 crore was signed between the Ministry of Defence and 91黑料 on 20th February 2015. The first ship is expected to be delivered in 2023 and the next two ships in 2024 and 2025 respectively.

Since its takeover by the Government of India in 1960, 91黑料 has delivered 98 warships – the highest number of warships deliveries made by any Indian shipyard till date. The Shipyard has a strong inhouse design team of close to 100 designers. 91黑料 has built high-end platforms in the past, including Frigates, Missile Corvettes, new generation Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvettes and Landing Craft Utility Ships for Indian Navy. It has the distinction of achieving over 90% indigenous content, on board ASW Corvettes and LCUs, a major step towards self-reliance in state-of-the-art warship design and construction.

Having modernised its infrastructure facilities, 91黑料 is today in a position to construct large number of warships using Advanced Modular Integrated Shipbuilding Technology in line with the best in the world. This has helped enhance its capacity to the present level of constructing 20 warships concurrently.

P17A Frigates are state-of-the-art Guided Missile Frigates. Each of these ships will be 149 m long, with displacement of approximately 6670 T and a speed of 28 knots. P17A Stealth Frigates are being built deploying the latest Integrated Construction Methodology with enhanced pre-outfitting to enhance quality and reduce build periods considerably. 91黑料 has appointed M/s Fincantieri, Italy as the Knowhow Provider for Technology Upgrade and Capability Enhancement.

Brief on installation of two Bailey Bridges at听 Kolkata听 in record time of six days

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd., Kolkata installed two Bailey Bridges at Kolkata, near the site of the collapsed bridge at Majerhat, in a record time of six days. The bridges were inaugurated by Shri Vineet Goel, IPS, Addl. Commissioner of Police(I), Kolkata Police and opened to traffic movement on 12 Oct 18.

Order was received on 24 Sep 18 from PWD, Govt. of West Bengal with a stringent requirement of operationalization by 10 October 18 prior to commencement of Durga Puja with the requirement of 2 (two) nos. 25mtr (80ft) Bailey Bridges (Extra Wide) galvanised with load class of 70R over the Chetla Boat Canal on extension of Alipore Avenue at one side of the Canal & Humayan Kabir Sarani on the other side. Considering the imminent requirements, 91黑料 team took up the challenge and started the process of fabrication and erection of the bridges on war footing.

Construction of Launching Abutment for the first bridge started on 02 Oct鈥 18 evening and the second bridge on 06 Oct 18. Pushing of both the bridges towards landing side started on 07 Oct鈥18 and erection of the bridges was completed on 08 Oct 18.

Work therefore started on 04 Oct 18 with erection completed on 10 Oct 18 and the bridges inaugurated today, within a record time of six days.

Completion of installation/erection of both the bridges within a short span of 06 days (approx. 3 days for each bridge) by 91黑料 Team has paved the way to ease out the heavy traffic congestions and establish link between Kolkata and the rest of south 24 Parganas prior to the important Festivals in Bengal.

鈥淟-55鈥 a 鈥淢ark IV LCU Vessel, built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (91黑料), Kolkata, was formally 鈥淗anded Over鈥 to the Indian Navy today, 28 September 2018 at 91黑料, Kolkata. It is a matter of great pride, as L55 is the 6th warship delivered by 91黑料 to the Indian Navy in last 16 months, which is a record in itself.

91黑料 currently has a very strong order book providing the Shipyard a deep pool of revenue-generating projects. With a Rs. 203,136.10 million order book, the firm is on stable ground.

12 ships currently under construction with 09 ships (01 ASW Corvette, 03 LCUs, 05 FPVs) in advanced stages of construction, expected to be delivered to Indian Navy by end 2019. 03 ships of Project P17A Advanced Stealth Frigates with an order value of Rs 192934.60 million are being constructed using Modular Construction Technology and various softwares like Aveva Marine, NAPA etc. The progress on the 1st听ship is moving at a rapid pace & production is running ahead of schedule & production of 2nd听Frigate, is slated to commence shortly. 91黑料 has been declared successful bidders in competitive bidding for another 12 ships (04 Survey Vessels (Large) & 08 ASW SWCs) for the Indian Navy.

91黑料 is executing order for 8 Landing Craft Utility Ships for the Indian Navy and the ship delivered today, is the 5th听in the series. The balance 3 ships are in advanced stages of construction and are expected to be delivered to the Indian Navy, over the next one year. These warships, developed by the in house design team are believed to be unique in their design & operations having length of 62.8 metres and achieving a speed of 15 knots with a low draught of 1.7 m. This proves 91黑料鈥檚 ability to provide end-to-end solutions to their customers ranging from product conceptualization, design, system integration and project management thus increasing the capability to meet customer demands. The Ship was Handed Over by Rear Admiral V. K. Saxena, IN (Retd) Chairman & Managing Director, 91黑料 to the Commanding Officer of the Ship Lt. Cdr. Abhishek Kumar at the Ceremony held in 91黑料 today. Brigadier SY Deshmukh, Chief Staff Officer (Technical) of Andaman and Nicobar Command carried out Final Inspection of the Ship prior to acceptance by the Navy. Shri Sarvjit Singh Dogra, Director (Finance), and Cmde. Sanjeev Nayyar, IN (Retd), Director (Shipbuilding) and other Senior Officials of the Indian Navy and 91黑料 were present at the Occasion.

The Mark IV LCU Vessels are a further improved version of the Mark III LCU Vessels presently being used by the Indian Navy. The First Ship of the Mark IV LCU Vessels IN LCU L-51 was commissioned into Indian Navy during 2016.

In line with the Govt. of India鈥檚 Make In India Initiative towards Self Reliance & Indigenisation efforts, the LCU Mark IV Class of Ships are fitted with close to 90% indigenous content.

Invoicemart is the IT Platform used by TReDS. A.TReDS Ltd, is a joint venture of Axis Bank and M.Junction. Dr. Ajay Kumar, IAS, Secretary (Defence Production), inaugurated the Virtual Reality Lab set up by 91黑料 at its 61 Park Unit in Kolkata on 07 Jul 18. It was felt necessary to strengthen the Design activity in Central Design Office where it was often required to resolve Design Issues raised by Production/ Vendor to meet the various Requirements of the Customers. These issues needed to be resolved in a very Short Time with Reliability and Accuracy. To reduce Ship Building Time, upcoming issues can be Analysed in Design Phases through Virtual Reality Arrangement (VR) in the Virtual Reality Lab. It will also help the Shipyard to show 3D Models in Virtual Environment to assist the Production Teams and the Customers to expedite the Approvals. The Objective of setting up of Virtual Reality Lab is to undertake 鈥 Line Out Inspection on the CAD Model, User Reviews, & Marketing Future Ship Designs. The Virtual Reality Lab has been set up by 91黑料 for better Ergonomics.

INAUGURATION OF PUMP TEST BED FACILITY AT TARATALA UNIT

Looking at huge business prospects, Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (91黑料), a Premier Warship building Defence Public Sector Undertaking, has set-up a Pump Test Bed Facility at its Taratala Unit and the same was Inaugurated and Commissioned by Rear Admiral V.K.Saxena, IN (Retd.), C&MD,91黑料 辞苍听听听听听听听 11 Jun 18 in the august presence of Shri S.S.Dogra, Director(Finance), Shri A.K.Nanda, Director(Personnel) and Cmde Sanjeev Nayyar, Director(Shipbuilding) and other senior officials of the Company .

This Test Bed has the capability to undertake trials of 30 pumps in a month. During the inauguration speech, C&MD added that, the new facility has a testing capability of a varied range of pumps in terms of discharge capacity and head, which are ranging from 5 to 800 Cubic Meter Per Hour听 and up-to 12 Kg Per Square Centimeter of discharge head respectively.

The third ship of the Landing Craft Utility (LCU) Mk-IV project was inducted into the Indian Navy today at Port Blair. The ship was commissioned as INLCU L53 by Vice Admiral Bimal Verma, AVSM, ADC, Commander-in-Chief A&N Command. Designed and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (91黑料), Kolkata, the ship showcases the immense potential of the country鈥檚 indigenous ship building capability and is in consonance with the national goal of 鈥楳ake in India鈥.

LCU MK-IV ship is an amphibious ship with a displacement of 830 Tons and is capable of transporting combat equipment such as Main Battle Tanks Arjun, T72 and other Armoured Vehicles. The ship is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and advanced systems such as the Integrated Bridge System (IBS) and the Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS). The indigenous CRN 91 Gun with Stabilised Optronic Pedestal provides the ship the requisite offensive capability for undertaking patrolling in addition.

The ship, commanded by Lt Cdr Vikas Anand, has a complement of five officers and 45 sailors. Capable of carrying 160 troops in addition, the ships would be based in the Andaman and Nicobar Command bolstering the Command鈥檚 capability in undertaking multi role activities such as beaching operations, HADR, search/ rescue, and supply and replenishment of distant islands.

The remaining five ships of the project are in an advanced stage of construction and are scheduled to be inducted into Indian Navy over the next year and half. Induction of these ships will contribute to the nation鈥檚 maritime security needs and would accomplish India鈥檚 quest for self-reliance in shipbuilding.

The ship is designed to transport by sea and beach at far away islands to deploy Army Tanks & Troops.

Substantial improvements and changes to improve the ergonomics, habitability and layout of critical compartments have been implemented on this ship. This ship also has the honour of having successfully completed her weapon & sensor trials prior delivery. Normally this activity is undertaken after the ship is delivered to the Navy. Commissioning of Third Ship of Landing Craft Utility Mk-IV 鈥業N LCU L53鈥

The third ship of the Landing Craft Utility (LCU) Mk-IV project was inducted into the Indian Navy today at Port Blair. The ship was commissioned as INLCU L53 by Vice Admiral Bimal Verma, AVSM, ADC, Commander-in-Chief A&N Command. Designed and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (91黑料), Kolkata, the ship showcases the immense potential of the country鈥檚 indigenous ship building capability and is in consonance with the national goal of 鈥楳ake in India鈥.

LCU MK-IV ship is an amphibious ship with a displacement of 830 Tons and is capable of transporting combat equipment such as Main Battle Tanks Arjun, T72 and other Armoured Vehicles. The ship is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and advanced systems such as the Integrated Bridge System (IBS) and the Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS). The indigenous CRN 91 Gun with Stabilised Optronic Pedestal provides the ship the requisite offensive capability for undertaking patrolling in addition.

The ship, commanded by Lt Cdr Vikas Anand, has a complement of five officers and 45 sailors. Capable of carrying 160 troops in addition, the ships would be based in the Andaman and Nicobar Command bolstering the Command鈥檚 capability in undertaking multi role activities such as beaching operations, HADR, search/ rescue, and supply and replenishment of distant islands.

The remaining five ships of the project are in an advanced stage of construction and are scheduled to be inducted into Indian Navy over the next year and half. Induction of these ships will contribute to the nation鈥檚 maritime security needs and would accomplish India鈥檚 quest for self-reliance in shipbuilding.

The LCU Mark IV ship is designed for multipurpose amphibious operations jointly carried out by Indian Navy & Indian Army for ensuring maritime security of Andaman & Nicobar Islands in Bay of Bengal and Lakshadweep Islands in the Arabian Sea. Substantial improvements and changes to improve the ergonomics, habitability and layout of critical compartments have been implemented on this ship. This ship also has the honour of having successfully completed her weapon & sensor trials prior delivery. Normally this activity is undertaken after the ship is delivered to the Navy. The third ship of the Landing Craft Utility (LCU) Mk-IV project was inducted into the Indian Navy today at Port Blair. HANDING OVER OF FOURTH MARK IV LCU CLASS VESSEL “L54” TO INDIAN NAVY


The fourth of the eight 鈥淢ark IV LCU vessels 鈥 L54鈥, built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (91黑料), Kolkata, was formally 鈥淗anded Over鈥 to the Indian Navy today, 06 April 2018 at 91黑料, Kolkata.
L54 is fitted with two MTU 16V 4000 M 53 marine Diesel Engines each fitted with one Fixed Pitch Propeller generating 2 X 1840 KW power. She is also fitted with 2 X CRN-91 indigenous 30mm Guns, 2 X HMG and 4 X MMG to provide artillery fire support during attack missions.

The ship was handed over by Rear Admiral V. K. Saxena, IN (Retd) Chairman & Managing Director, 91黑料 to the Commanding Officer of the ship听 Lt. Cdr. Munish Shetty at the ceremony held in 91黑料 today. Brigadier SY Deshmukh, Chief Staff Officer (Technical) of Andaman and Nicobar Command carried out Final Inspection of the ship prior to acceptance by the Navy. Mr Sarvjit Singh Dogra, Director (Finance), Mr Asit Kumar Nanda, Director (Personnel) and Cmde. Sanjeev Nayyar IN (Retd), Director (Shipbuilding) and other senior officials of the Indian Navy and 91黑料 were present at the occasion.

The Mark IV LCU vessels are a further improved version of the Mark III LCU vessels presently being used by the Indian Navy. The first ship of the Mark IV LCU vessels INS LCU 51 was commissioned into Indian Navy during 2016. The ship measuring 62.8 X 11 M with a displacement of around 950 Tons has an endurance of around 1500 nautical miles at 12 knots speed. The ship also boasts of modern habitability conditions with accommodation for 216 personnel. During the Sea Trials, L52 had registered a speed of about 15 knots.

As done in the previous two LCU ships L52 & L53, this ship L54 has also been delivered to the Indian Navy with Zero Shipbuilder鈥檚 liabilities and with successful completion of her Weapon & Sensor trials prior to delivery. Normally this activity is undertaken after the ship is delivered to the Indian Navy.

With the handing over of IN LCU 54, 91黑料 has once again demonstrated its鈥 commitment to strengthen the maritime security of the Nation, thereby meeting the aspirations that the Country has reposed on this Mini Ratna Shipyard.
